Information on the Dutch golf licence (GVB)
Simple and Clear.
Many clubs offer three-day courses to prepare for one’s Dutch golf licence (GVB). In the Netherlands but also abroad. However, Bart does not believe in this. Before simply deciding on a course, it is wise to ask the following questions: How big is the group? Will you also practice on the golf course? Because this is where the actual game is played. What is the success rate? What are the costs?
Bart also frequently meets clients who have a golf licence (GVB) but who are barely able to hit the ball. It sometimes seems as if they have simply paid a large sum of money to purchase their licence. Unfortunately, it is not possible to obtain your Dutch golf licence outside the Netherlands! This system whereby players need a golf licence to play on a golf course was devised in the Netherlands. However, similar systems also exist in Germany and Belgium. The GVB exam can only be taken in the Netherlands. Players can take their exam at their own golf club, or at club that conducts exams for non-members. The exam consists of a theory test, consisting of 20 questions, and a practical whereby four holes are played.
Bart will help you to properly prepare for the exam. Through his many years of experience, he has developed a teaching programme that enables anyone to master basic golf skills in just one week. And making a reservation for the exam is simple. Usually, you will be able to take the exam one week after returning to the Netherlands.
If the weather permits, of course.
